Since Anguilla land is not suitable for agricultural purposes and the country itself has very few natural resources - the island’s main industries are tourism, offshore company services, offshore banking, fishing and boat building.

There are no foreign exchange restrictions or levies. There are no sales or value-added taxes. And as such many international conglomerates including major insurance, banking and financial institutions are headquartered Anguilla.
